繼昨天發佈了小六的溫習卷後，我們的「聖誕假前夕倒數企劃」來到了第二回。今日的主角是小學階段一個承上啟下的重要年級——小學五年級。小五的數學課程並非遙不可及，但卻是學生思維開始轉向抽象化的關鍵時期。面對即將到來的聖誕假期，以及隨之而來的下學期考試，我們不需要進行地獄式操練，而是應該利用這段時間，協助子女梳理那些剛接觸的新概念，確保基礎穩固。

Following the release of the Primary 6 review paper yesterday, our "Pre-Holiday Countdown Project" reaches Part 2 today. The spotlight is on a pivotal connecting grade in the primary stage—Primary 5. The Primary 5 math curriculum is not out of reach, but it marks a critical period where students' thinking begins to shift towards abstraction. Facing the upcoming Christmas holidays and the subsequent exams, we don't need intense drilling. Instead, we should use this time to help our children organize the new concepts they have just encountered and ensure their foundations are solid.


在這份精心編寫的小五數學模擬溫習卷中，我們重點整理了三個核心課題，幫助學生溫故知新。首先是「分數的四則運算」（試卷乙部）。到了五年級，學生需要處理異分母分數的加減，以及分數乘法。這些題目本身難度適中，但步驟較多，學生容易因為忘記通分或約分而失分。試卷中包含了連乘運算（如第 16 題）及帶分數相乘（如第 20 題），旨在讓學生透過練習，令運算過程更流暢準確。

In this meticulously crafted Primary 5 Math mock review paper, we have highlighted three core topics to help students review the old and learn the new. The first is "Fraction Operations" (Section B). In Primary 5, students need to handle addition and subtraction of fractions with unlike denominators, as well as fraction multiplication. These questions are of moderate difficulty, but they involve multiple steps, making it easy for students to lose marks by forgetting to find common denominators or simplify. The paper includes repeated multiplication (like Question 16) and multiplication of mixed numbers (like Question 20), aiming to make the calculation process smoother and more accurate through practice.


第二個重點是「多邊形面積」（試卷丙部）。這部分要求學生熟悉平行四邊形、三角形及梯形的面積公式。除了直接套用公式，試卷也加入了一些基礎的複合圖形題（如第 24 和 25 題），訓練學生觀察如何將圖形「分割」或「填補」。這類題目不算刁鑽，主要是考驗學生能否冷靜地找出圖形正確的底和高，建立清晰的空間概念。

The second key focus is "Area of Polygons" (Section C). This section requires students to be familiar with the area formulas for parallelograms, triangles, and trapezoids. Beyond directly applying formulas, the paper also includes some basic composite figure questions (like Questions 24 and 25) to train students on how to "dissect" or "fill" shapes. These questions are not tricky; they mainly test whether students can calmly identify the correct base and height of the shapes, establishing a clear spatial concept.


最後，是小五課程的新嘗試——「代數符號與簡易方程」（試卷丁部）。這是孩子首次接觸用英文字母（如 x, y, a）來代表數值。雖然只是代數的入門，但對於習慣了數字運算的小學生來說，需要一點時間去適應這種表達方式。試卷涵蓋了由文字轉化為代數式的練習（如第 26 題），以及基礎的方程求解（如第 30 題），幫助孩子消除對符號的陌生感。

Finally, we have the new venture in the Primary 5 curriculum—"Algebraic Expressions and Simple Equations" (Section D). This is the first time children encounter using English letters (such as x, y, a) to represent numerical values. Although this is just an introduction to algebra, primary students accustomed to numerical calculations need some time to adapt to this mode of expression. The paper covers exercises on converting text to algebraic expressions (like Question 26) and solving basic equations (like Question 30), helping children overcome any unfamiliarity with symbols.

We encourage parents to adopt a "relaxed practice" strategy and not to put too much pressure on their children. You might suggest that your child spend 15 minutes a day completing one section, allowing them to keep their "math sense" alive during the holiday and avoid getting rusty. Please remember, maintaining a learning habit is more important than getting every question right.
